The wines of Sept Winery were honored during a gastronomic "4-handed" dinner this Sunday, July 4th, 2021 at Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, 1er Grand Cru Classé of Sauternes. The opportunity for Wine Explorers to come back to this wonderful event which allowed some epicureans to discover the great wines of the Lebanese winemaker Maher Harb.
For this first “4 hands” dinner of the summer, Jérôme Schilling, starred chef of the LALIQUE restaurant, invited Alan Geaam – the only Lebanese starred chef in the Michelin Guide and owner of the eponymous Parisian restaurant – to create a unique culinary experience from Sauternes to Lebanon. Adrien Cascio, Head Sommelier of the LALIQUE restaurant, created subtle and perfumed food and wine pairings for the occasion, in collaboration with Wine Explorers.
Thus, two cuvées from Sept Winery have been selected to accompany the two dishes with Lebanese influences on the menu: Obeideh 2019 in white and Cuvée du Soleil 2018 in red.
Wine and food pairing #1
With its fresh and lemony palate, its notes of bitter almonds, honey and chestnuts, the Obeideh 2019 cuvée sublimates the dish of crab meat, labenh, zaatar, zucchini & pea foam. A great way to discover Obeideh, an endemic Lebanese grape variety.
Wine and food pairing #2
Resulting from a rare blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, the Cuvée du Soleil 2018 is a red wine with a perfect balance, between freshness of the fruit and power, with a saline finish. A delicate marriage with lamb in two textures, multi-colored carrots and sumac.
We warmly thank Jérôme Schilling, Alan Geeam, Adrien Cascio and the entire team of the LALIQUE restaurant for this magnificent showcase of Sept Winerie's wines.
